Product Features

Rigid shanks for effortless penetration in hard ground

Rigid Shanks

Rigid shanks make for effortless penetration in hard ground conditions. Rigid shanks also maintain a constant attack angle which helps to efficiently shatter the ground and lower the pulling load requirement.

Model 543 sweep options for varying soil conditions

Versatile Sweeps

The Model 760T uses several common style sweeps for different applications. The 9" field cultivator sweeps are used for softer ground conditions or secondary tillage. The chisel points work very well for extremely hard ground conditions. An optional set of turning shovel sweeps can be purchased for working in sod conditions.

Straight cutting coulters mounted across the front

Straight Cutting Coulters

Straight style cutting coulters are mounted across the front of the Model 760T. These coulters are used to cut light plant debris and prevent hair pinning on the rear shanks. They also help to reduce clod size on secondary passes.

Model 760T Category 1 quick hitch compatible

Quick Hitch Compatible

The Model 760T is equipped with a Category 1 standard 3-point hitch system. It is also quick hitch compatible.

Weight racks on both sides of the tool frame

Weight Racks

Weight can be added to the weight racks on both sides of the tool frame. This helps with coulter penetration in harder ground conditions.

Front and rear shank receivers for quick removal and adjustment

Shank Receivers

The Model 760T has shank receivers on both the front and back. These allow for easy shank removal or individual up and down adjustment.

Two rear attachment receivers for optional drag harrow

Attachment Receivers

Two attachment receivers are located at the back of the tool frame. An optional drag harrow is able to be attached into this location.

Drag Harrow

The optional Drag Harrow consists of the harrow and fastening pins.

Drag Harrow accessory
  • 66″ Width specifically designed for the Model 760 & 760T
  • Great for final seedbed preparation
  • Levels ground and helps to reduce clod size
  • Spike angle can be adjusted from vertical to horizontal with a total of 7 positions
  • Four bar link system allows the harrow to float and follow the contour of the ground
  • Drag Harrow height is adjustable with side chains
  • Weight rack for conditions where additional weight is needed

Turning Shovel Kit

The optional Turning Shovel Kit consists of three turning shovels and mounting hardware.

Turning Shovel Kit accessory
  • Great for doing the initial tillage in sod conditions
  • Turning shovels act similar to a moldboard plow and turn the sod ribbon to the side.
  • Easier to pull and much less troublesome than normal sweeps in sod

Tillage Equipment — Product Information & Frequently Asked Questions

Overview & Use Cases
What is a Till-Ease Chisel Plow / Field Cultivator?
An aggressive tillage tool for hard and soft ground. Suitable for wildlife food plots, large gardens, new lawn seedings, small-scale vegetable farming, and mechanical weed control.
What is a chisel plow?
A primary tillage tool that works mainly at the rear shanks. Points or sweeps penetrate hard surfaces and shear/heave soil to build a seedbed, reduce compaction, retain moisture, and limit erosion.
Models & Tow Vehicles
What is a Till-Ease Model TP2148, TP2760, and TP3272 Cultipacker?
Cultipackers that firm soil and press broadcast seed into freshly tilled ground. Commonly paired with food plots and new lawn seedings.
What can pull the Till-Ease Model 543 & 760 Chisel Plow / Field Cultivator?
The 543 was designed around a 350 cc 4×4 ATV; larger ATVs (e.g., 500 cc+) work easier and faster due to weight and tire size. Traction limits performance before horsepower. Adding 75–100 lb to a smaller ATV’s front rack helps. The 760 is intended for UTVs and small tractors.
Design & Components
Why does the Till-Ease use rigid shanks instead of spring shanks?
Penetration and draft hinge on maintaining a precise sweep/point angle. Spring shanks deflect in hard soils, changing the angle and causing poor penetration and harder pulling. Rigid shanks hold the angle.
Are the front cutting coulters disk blades?
No. They are straight blades that cut residue to prevent hair-pinning at the rear shanks and also help reduce clod size on secondary passes. Straight blades require less pressure than cupped disk blades.
What is the difference between a field-cultivator sweep and a chisel point?
The tool includes 9" field-cultivator sweeps for soft ground/secondary tillage and chisel points for hard ground and rocky soils with the lowest draft. Both bolt on and are easily interchangeable.
Operation & Adjustments
Does the Till-Ease 543 & 760 have a manual lift option?
No. Only electric lift is offered. Manual lift is cumbersome and difficult to set on a tool that penetrates hard ground and requires quick, periodic depth changes. Electric lift allows adjustments while moving.
How much weight should be added for proper operation?
Generally 150–200 lb in the weight racks to help the front cutting coulters penetrate. If the coulters are removed or set up, no added weight is required. The rear generates its own down pressure.
How do I level the seedbed after chiseling?
Chisel plows leave furrows by design. Use a leveling device afterward. An optional spike-tooth drag harrow mounts into two rear receivers to smooth the surface.
Performance & Comparisons
Why does a chisel plow work better than a disk harrow for primary tillage?
The Till-Ease creates its own down pressure and penetrates hard ground efficiently. Disk harrows create no down pressure and require significant added weight for shallow penetration; they’re intended for secondary tillage after a moldboard plow.
How hard of ground will the Till-Ease Chisel Plow / Field Cultivator handle?
Very hard. With chisel points installed, it can penetrate surfaces as firm as a dirt road. It is among the most aggressive ATV/UTV tillage tools on the market.
Seeding Workflow & Cultipackers
Does the Till-Ease have an optional seeder?
No. Best practice is: create the seedbed (tillage), harrow to level, cultipack to firm, broadcast seed, then cultipack again for seed-to-soil contact. Seeding directly behind the tillage tool skips critical steps.
Why do Model TP Cultipackers improve germination?
They press broadcast seed into soil to ensure seed-to-soil contact, enabling moisture uptake and uniform germination.
Why are Model TP Cultipackers better than a smooth lawn roller?
Cast-iron wheels with knobs dimple the soil to conserve moisture and create ideal germination pockets. TP units apply purpose-designed pressure that firms without excessive compaction; smooth rollers create uniform, fast-drying surfaces and can compact soil.
Will a drag harrow place seed as effectively as a TP Cultipacker?
No. Small seed (e.g., clover) must remain in the top ~¼". Harrowing after seeding often buries it too deep. TP Cultipackers press seed uniformly to the correct depth. For larger seed, a harrow can work, but a cultipacker still improves seed-to-soil contact.
